A Day in the Life

Account Managers oversee client accounts once a sales rep has closed the business. They serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients, maintain client satisfaction, handle account renewals and upsells, and help clients strategize getting the most from the product or service they purchased.

Work Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and grow relationships
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, educate clients on best practices, provide data insights, and upsell product offerings
  • Conduct demos and webinars of products and features

Skills You'll Need

  • Understanding of and ability to track and utilize sales terminology and metrics
  • Account-based selling, email writing, and prospect calling
  • How to properly and effectively handle sales objections
  • Actively follow up and manage sales funnel through established CRM tools, like Salesforce
  • Familiarity with other tools, like Outreach and LinkedIn Sales
  • Strongly deadline-driven and process-oriented
  • Adept at solving problems that span business and technology
  • A self-starter with a growth mindset and an appetite for learning, with the ability to receive and implement feedback
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients
  • Successfully manage a pipeline to achieve revenue targets
