Datadog offers internships in the summer, winter, and fall. The programs run anywhere from 4 to 6 months. Winter internships start in January, Summer internships start in May-June, and Fall internships start in July-September. As an intern, you will be part of a team and company in the hyper-growth stage and gain experience working to scale an enterprise product.
The interview process is typically 3 to 5 phases. On average, the entire process should take 2 to 4 weeks, depending on schedules.
The first round is an initial phone screening with a couple behavioral questions. For Software Engineering positions, this also involves a couple coding questions.
The second step is a take-home project. This could be something like a coding assignment or case study and you are usually given a week to complete it.
The next round or rounds consist of interviews with Datadog team members. For Software Engineering internship applicants, you will be meeting with a Senior Software Engineer. This stage will be the most in-depth in regards to questions about your background.
